Privacy notice

Warm Signal ("we", "us") is a small independent business based in London. We are the controller of the personal data described here. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

Sign up: your first name, email address, the interests you tick and a record of your consent.

Sell to us enquiries: your name, email, phone number (optional), postcode (needed for record collections), details, photos and any uploaded list files of the items you want to sell, approximate quantity, condition, genres and your preferred route (sell outright, consignment or trade in).

Why we use it and our lawful basis

Marketing emails about the shop launch, stock drops and Record Store Day: based on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link or emailing us.

Sell to us enquiries: based on our legitimate interests in assessing items and replying to you with an offer, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We use trusted service providers to host our website, database and email, who process data only on our instructions. Some may store data outside the UK, in which case appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

Sign up details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Sell to us enquiries and photos: up to 12 months after our last contact, unless a purchase goes ahead, in which case records are kept as required for tax and accounting (usually 6 years).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to help first.
